Sleeping Dogs Will Get DLC for Six Months

Square Enix has announced that Sleeping Dogs will continue to receive downloadable content for six months. As announced today, Square Enix plans “an extensive six months of additional content,” starting with new outfits available at launch. From day one, players will able to download an 80s-inspired Retro Triad Pack, which offers special buffs and a “funky kung-fu van.” As previously announced, any players who previously played Just Cause 2 will also have a special set of clothes available when they start up Sleeping Dogs.

Beginning in September, Sleeping Dogs will also receive new content packs, including a “high-speed” Racing Pack and an “explosive” SWAT Pack. Details on exactly what those packs contain, as well as other DLC plans, haven’t been revealed, but Square Enix promises that it has “further announcements to follow soon.”

“Sleeping Dogs is a game we know fans will want to keep on playing, so over the next six months we'll be creating a series of new content packs giving players everything they need to keep enjoying the game," said Square Enix London general manager Lee Singleton. "We want to create something to suit everyone's play style, from cool cars and high-speed missions to outlandish outfits and game-extending mission packs. The game launch is just the beginning."

Sleeping Dogs hits stores tomorrow, August 14th, in North America and August 17th in Europe. It will launch for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
